Vintage Gerbe Fully Fashioned Stockings VS011

Sheer point d'aiguille (mesh) fully fashioned stockings by famed French hosiery brand Gerbe. The stockings are a fine mesh weave which makes them resistant to runs and doesn't refer to a pattern, it's simply a different knitting weave.

According to Gerbe the point d'aiguille  style is 'The fine Stocking for everyday use'.

The colour is a mushroomy mid greyish nude.

Alas, it's impossible to tell the heel type without opening the packet but I'd be very, very, surprised if they weren't point (otherwise known as French) heels.

At a size 8.5, these stockings should officially fit a UK foot size 3-4, US foot size 5-6, Euro foot size 36-37. These nylons are a newer vintage so I would expect them to have a more modern fit to be worn higher on the leg than stockings made in the 1950s.

Welt Imprint: There is a welt imprint on the welt of these stockings. As with all vintage welt imprints unfortunately they will flake off when worn. If you do find a pretty welt imprint on a pair of stockings the best way to preserve it is to frame them and keep them as a piece of art.
