Vintage Aristoc Landsdowne Fully Fashioned Stockings V003

These stunning stockings feature a Cuban Heel and are made from 30 denier nylon which certainly less likely to hitch than the yarn used for modern fully fashioned stockings. The heavier denier also adds to the durability.

Just in case you didn’t know, Aristoc was the last mainstream hosiery brand to make Fully Fashioned Stockings. Although I don’t have the exact date, I do remember a friend sacrificing her last pair for a photoshoot in the early 1990s. The story goes, that as the people who worked the vintage Reading knitting machines retired, they weren’t replaced and eventually the machines stopped: after all, it’s so much easier to make stockings on modern circular knit machines.

Modern sizing. Now for the really good news. Not only are these the largest size vintage made, they’re also modern sizing, which means they’re long, long, long! They’re the equivalent of our large Fully Fashioned Stocking.
