Cuban Heel Stockings

Cuban Heel Stockings

Go for 1940s glamour with a pair of Cuban Heel Stockings. The 'Cuban' bit refers to the shape of the heel at the ankle which is squared off at the top. This style of stocking heel was the most common during the 1940s and continued to be fashionable throughout the 1950s and 1960s. At What Katie Did we have two styles of Cuban Heel Stockings.

The first are Fully Fashioned which means they are made on vintage machinery, in the UK, just like in the 1940s and 1950s. They truly are the real deal! The stockings are knitted flat and the seam actually holds them together.

Secondly we have our Glamour Cuban Heels which are made on modern circular knit machines in Italy. The seam and heel detail are simply for decoration. While not truly vintage authentic our Glamour Seams are a little more harder wearing then their Fully Fashioned sisters, as well as being a little easier on your pocket book.
